(w/embracethewind): Shinsengumi recruit. [Kaze Hikaru AU]
[ At least, he finally is here. After five years of waiting, his older brother found a stable job that would allow them to support themselves ever since the death of their parents: a recruit in the Shinsengumi.
Tetsunosuke himself is a little younger than what is considered old enough to join. He's only 14, only a year before he's officially considered of age, he could see the faces of commanders Kondou and Hijikata when Tatsunosuke, his brother, presented the both of them. They said he was too young, and Tetsunosuke, unable to keep his mouth shut, argued he had the will to fight and that he wished to train to become a soldier. Kondou admired his determination, but Hijikata looked concerned. At the end, he was assigned to be the page of the vice-commander, much to his dismay. Hijikata looks stern and scary, and Tetsunosuke believes he doesn't takes him seriously. Why they couldn't give him a goddamn sword like all the other soldiers?
He was sent to the dojo, where all the young are being trained by the first division captain of the Shinsengumi, Okita Souji, whom he and his brother had heard plenty of times, his name as the most talented warrior of the squad resounds in the streets of Kyoto both by awe and fear. As he looks at him, Tetsunosuke thinks he looks friendly, and yet strangely fragile despite the strenght he shows when fighting his students. ]
"I'm Ichimura Tetsunosuke and I joined the Shinsengumi today" [ He presents himself in front of his new teacher and companions. ] "I want to train hard to become stronger!"

The lack of soldiers has put the Shinsengumi in a compromising position after the riddance of the Goryo-Eji. Or that's what they would like to believe as some members including both Itō's younger brother and right-hand friend have escaped to nowhere they can think of - placing them on the same level as the imperialists - so everyone is on edge with what the remnants might plot against the group. Above all else, his condition promises not let him be close to Kondō's side as his personal guard.
Sei has forced him to put on a thick hanten and a scarf over the gi uniform as the slightest cold wind could have a negative impact on his sort of improved health. The rogai has hindered his true strength considerably but not his ability and will to give a proper teaching to the recruits which luckily are children. They do have a perk to learn faster and absorb knowledge like a sponge coupled with their enthusiasm and honesty, particularly the auburn green-eyed little fellow who seems to have come of age or close introducing himself.
Holding the long bokken over his shoulder with some of the children looking at the young boy with interest — ]
Ah, Ichimura-san! I've heard about you. Welcome, it's nice to see you joined the training.
[ Yes, that smile can be deceiving but today he feels oddly happy to be out of bed... finally. ]

[ Truth to be told, Tetsunosuke doesn't knows much of kenjutsu. He received a very basic training when he was a small child, as expected of someone born in the samurai class, however, he later dropped it along with his brother, and his father didn't minded it at all, since he was a scholar who prefered books over fighting. A pang of sadness beats him inside as he remembers his father being murdered in cold blood by that Choshuu bastard, along with his mother; that's why he joined the Shinsengumi, eager to become stronger to kill that guy who stole his parents from him, Yoshida Toshimarou, that was his name. He made sure to remember it each day since the assassination, after he swore revenge.
That's why he looks determined to his new teacher, not caring for his lack of experience. ]
"Thank you, Okita-san" [He replies dutifully] "Yes! I trained when I was young, and I have my own style of fighting! I can fight with two swords!"

{ Oh? That's new. It's true that many men that join the Shinsengumi come from different dojos and learn their respective styles. To hear someone has a style within their school style is rare as Souji owns it because he's talented enough to create different and varied attacks. Better put it to the test with the other younglings watching how to learn a proper attack and defense as a start. }
Okay, pick a pair of shinai, please. Some knowledge can be useful to your present comrades.
{ With stern respect, he asks the children to step aside and sit, walking to the center of the dojo reading his bokken in stance. His demeanor is calm yet can show how deadly he is when confronted. When it comes to Tetsunosuke the usual demonic smile is lessened to a more amicable and lively grin. For once, he will go gentle on his new student. }

[ Picking two shinaii and putting an armor, he faces at the young man in front of him. Despite being smaller in stature and lacking physical build, Tetsunosuke isn't afraid. Recklesslesly, he charges at the first division captain with all his strength.]
"HYAAAAAAA!!!!!"
